We are all children of God and being his children we cannot be sad. Sadness is the end product of selfishness. If we truly want to live for God we will never lack cheerfulness even when we discover our errors and wretchedness.
Hardship is something to be expected. It is an integral part of an ordinary life. Our joy cannot be dependent on some future earthly paradise where there are no difficulties, contradictions or temptations. As a matter of fact we need hardships if we are to attain substantive victory. Without them our pursuit of virtue would be hollow.
Birds not only fly due to the action of their wings, but also due to the resistance in the atmosphere.
Our joy must have firm foundation.
you may ask is it really possible to always stay happy.......well once the firm desire for that is set then every thing else will fall into place..... but being lukewarm is not a choice.....you either choose to be happy or not....cold or hot....... INTERMEDIATE.....NAHHHHH!!! NOT A GOOD IDEA...THE WORD SHOULDN'T EVEN EXIST........
Wanting without really wanting.......this only shows cowardice ...
Why not make that firm decision once and for all?
At least i can say i tried it and i am slowly but surely getting there ..with God's help off course because alone it would probably be a hoax or worse yet a NIGHTMARE!
